LingayasVidyapeeth School of Vocational Training (LV-SVS) has been established by LingayasVidyapeethwith a key thought to “inventinnovatively” the best trainingmethods and pedagogies for developing necessary skill sets in order to ensure that the learners must have adequate knowledge and skills at exit point, so that they are work ready and fit to be employed. With increasing technological changes in today’s world has caused a huge complexity inhandling the tasks,hence the jobs are progressively becoming skill-Intensive, It is the need of the hour to reform the training approach and education system so as to improve the skills of the workforce in order to enable them in applying and diffusing the newly adopted technologies and tools. The industries expect new employees to possess all the practical skills they need before they start working. The challengesare bigger in developing nations like India which needs more skilled workforce to meet the increasing demands, the skill gap study by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) for the period of 2010-2014 reports that over 109.73 million additional skilled manpower will be required by 2022 across different sectors.Therefore the University Grants Commission (UGC) has introduced a Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) programme to cater the need of businesses and youth alike.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a scheme on skills development based higher education as part of college/university education, leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Degree with multiple exits such as Diploma/Advanced Diploma under the NSQF.The B.Voc.programme is focused on universities and colleges providing undergraduate studies which would also incorporate specific job roles and their NOSs alongwith broad based general education. This would enable the graduates completing B.Voc. to make a meaningful participation in accelerating India’s economy by gaining appropriate employment, becoming entrepreneurs and creating appropriate knowledge.

NSQF has adopted a very holistic approach in designing the credit framework primarily aimed at promoting lateral and vertical mobility, beauty lies in a pre-defined entry and multiple exit points. It is an effort to bridge the gap between certificate and Diploma level and between Diploma and Degree levels by allowing for mobility from one to the other. It also provides an opportunity to Diploma holders to pursue graduation in vocational education and graduates to further pursue post-graduation using the previously earned credits, Overall this credit system helps improve the employability of our certificate, Diploma and Degree holders and provide a framework for lifelong learning through flexible credit transfers and Community College like institutions, within the framework of higher education institutions.

  • To ensure that the students have adequate knowledge and skills, so that they are work ready at each exit point of the programme.
  • To provide flexibility to the students by means of pre-defined entry and multiple exit points.
  • To integrate NSQF within the undergraduate level of higher education in order to enhance employability of the graduates and meet industry requirements. Such graduates apart from meeting the needs of local and national industry are also expected to be equipped to become part of the global workforce.
  • To provide vertical mobility to students coming out of 10+2 with vocational subjects.

LingayasVidyapeeth School of Vocational Training (LV-SVS) has been providing various short and medium term vocational training and skill building programmes in multiple streams in a B.Voc scheme of UGC in collaboration with the industry, institutions with relevant industry interface and expertise in their subject/field of training to ensures that the course curriculum and training is in relevance with the practical industry requirements.

The Work Based Learning Program (WBLP) in introduced by LV-SVS, It has a unique blend of the practical / hands-on training at a specified industry location and a classroom/face to face training for general component, the key focus is on the practical skills acquisition by the learner in the specific job role which is required in the industry to perform various tasks.WBLP enable the learners to learn in a real practical learning environment and a learner learn by actually performing a specific job or task, the learner will perform the job and learn as he goes.

  • The WBLP program helps learners of transferring theory learning to practice as the The trainee receives job knowledge and gains experience from his supervisor in each of the different job assignments,
  • Learner gets the opportunity to learn on the same machines and experience the real work handling techniques as according to the requirement and approved standards of the organisation, above all the trainee is learning while earning.
  • WBLP program prepares a learner with an overview of job, its purpose, and results desired, lt helps in quickly identifying the weak areas and helps trainee to focus and strengthen the weaker areas.
  • The key benefit of our WBLP program is that it allows learners to learn by actually perform a specific job or task, the learner will perform the job and learn as he goes.

The eligibility condition for admission to B.Voc.programme shall be 10+2 or equivalent, in any stream.
